Mother's Day Card
Yes, I know it's January but Easter is early this year and Mother's Day will be here before we blink. I always find it it a bit tricky coming up with ideas for specail occassions and was looking on Pinterest for something simple when I spotted this card and thought it was sweet and simple, but we'd need to enlarge for a toddler sized card.
Sorting through all our buttons, even the biggest ones looked too small on the dress template I'd made, so I tried a fabric circle, but it didn't look quite right and I made it too big.
My final attempt I used a 4.2cm diameter pink paper circle meaning that the toddlers could draw a face on too if they choose.
I've used Sainsbury's wrapping paper for the dress. The dress is 7.6cm from top to bottom, the dress is 7.5cm across the bottom and 2.5cm across the neckline. EDIT: Sheet wrapping paper is better than wrapping paper on a roll for this as it's thicker. Also, if you choose a print that doesn't matter which way round the paper is, it makes it easier to cut out and you can get more from your paper.
The pretty heart buttons are brought through Amazon direct from China, and are usually around £1.50 for 50 buttons. Make sure you order at least six weeks in advance to ensure delivery in time.
I've used red cardboard background as we have an excess of red card and to make the dress stand out.
I am hoping this will make a lovely card, full of character and very simple to prepare for the group.
Here are the ones E made:
For another Mother's Day Card idea from Crafting Cherubs, this is what we made last year.
Edit: Here are the efforts from the the toddlers this morning, they really have made some marvellous mother's day cards.
The little ones signed their cards with an handprint, so from the biggest to the smallest at a few months old, the children were able to sign their cards.
