Easter Chick & Christmas Robin

I found the template I'd used to make an Easter chick craft for toddler that I'd prepared for when I was on maternity leave with E. Five years on, E had never made this craft so I thought we'd make it together.

She loved her flappy Easter chick, afterwards we decorated an Easter egg picture so he had an egg to come out. As we were playing with Chick, I thought that the same template would also make a fab robin Christmas craft, so soon Chick had a robin friend.

One template, two crafts, two seasons!

The body is 15cm tall egg shape. The beaks are made of 3cm length sides sticky backed foam triangles.

The eyes on the chick are 35mm white stickers with 8mm black stickers.

The eyes on the robin are 16mm white stickers with 8mm black stickers.

The wings are held on split pins making them flappy and fun, but to save money and the effort of making holes in the body and wings, you could just stick the wings down with glue, but glueing won't give you the fun of this...

The template could also easily work for owls and penguins... One template, four crafts... We also use the same egg shape for our Aliens Love Underpants craft.... so that makes five...
